On August 24, 2019, a tropical storm formed and was named “Dorian.” One day later, it intensified into a hurricane near St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. As of today, Sunday, September 1, a State of emergency has been declared in four states. Dorian has struck the Bahamas with catastrophic damage as an upgraded Category 5 Hurricane with sustained winds of up to 185 mph. Hurricane Dorian is now tied for the second-strongest storm of the Atlantic Ocean in recorded history.
